Plumbing Firefighting Design Engineer

<p>- Develop concept, schematic, and detailed designs for plumbing (water supply, drainage, storm water) and firefighting (hydrant, sprinkler, pump room, tanks) systems for residential and institutional buildings.</p><p>- Prepare coordinated plumbing and firefighting layouts, schematics, sections, and details in AutoCAD, ensuring alignment with architectural and structural drawings and resolving clashes at design stage.</p><p>- Perform hydraulic calculations for pipe sizing, pump head, sprinkler/hydrant networks, and storage capacities using standard hydraulic calculation tools and engineering principles.</p><p>- Prepare technical BOQs, material take-offs, and design inputs for estimation, tendering, and value engineering exercises in coordination with internal project managers.</p><p>- Support EPC delivery by issuing clear design deliverables, responding to RFIs, and providing design clarifications to site engineers and contractors during execution.</p><p>- Ensure designs comply with NBC, relevant IS codes, local fire department norms, and local authority requirements, and assist in documentation for plumbing and fire NOCs.</p><p>- Contribute to internal design standards, checklists, and processes to reduce rework, improve drawing quality, and support cost control across multiple parallel projects.</p><p><br></p><br /><br />Must-Have:<br /><p>3-5 years of hands-on experience in plumbing and firefighting system design for building projects (residential/commercial) with an EPC/MEP consultant or contractor: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in plumbing and firefighting system design for building projects (residential/commercial) with an EPC/MEP consultant or contractor</p><p>Strong working knowledge of NBC, local fire department norms, and relevant IS codes for water supply, drainage, and fire protection systems: Strong working knowledge of NBC, local fire department norms, and relevant IS codes for water supply, drainage, and fire protection systems</p><p>Proficiency in preparing detailed plumbing and firefighting layouts, schematics, and sections in AutoCAD with good drawing standards: Proficiency in preparing detailed plumbing and firefighting layouts, schematics, and sections in AutoCAD with good drawing standards</p><p>Practical experience in performing hydraulic calculations for pipe sizing, pump head, sprinkler/hydrant network, and water storage capacity: Practical experience in performing hydraulic calculations for pipe sizing, pump head, sprinkler/hydrant network, and water storage capacity</p><p>Ability to coordinate MEP services with architectural and structural drawings and resolve clashes in design stage: Ability to coordinate MEP services with architectural and structural drawings and resolve clashes in design stage</p><p>Experience in preparing technical BOQs, material take-offs, and design inputs for estimation/tendering: Experience in preparing technical BOQs, material take-offs, and design inputs for estimation/tendering</p><p>Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal teams, consultants, and site engineers: Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal teams, consultants, and site engineers</p><p>Willingness to work from Pune office on a full-time basis and support multiple projects in parallel: Willingness to work from Pune office on a full-time basis and support multiple projects in parallel</p><br /><br />Nice-to-Have:<br /><p>Exposure to Revit MEP for plumbing and firefighting modeling and basic BIM coordination: Exposure to Revit MEP for plumbing and firefighting modeling and basic BIM coordination</p><p>Experience in designing water supply and fire systems for high-rise buildings (above 70m): Experience in designing water supply and fire systems for high-rise buildings (above 70m)</p><p>Prior experience in value engineering to optimize pipe routing, shaft planning, and pump/pipe sizing for cost control: Prior experience in value engineering to optimize pipe routing, shaft planning, and pump/pipe sizing for cost control</p><p>Familiarity with local authority approval processes for plumbing and fire NOCs in Maharashtra: Familiarity with local authority approval processes for plumbing and fire NOCs in Maharashtra</p>
