About the role
The Electrical BIM Engineer will develop, coordinate, and manage electrical BIM models for large-scale MEP projects, ensuring compliance with standards, client specifications, and industry best practices. They will use Autodesk Revit to create detailed electrical layouts and collaborate with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines. Clash detection will be performed with Navisworks, and construction, shop, and as‑built documents will be generated from the BIM models. The role demands a solid background in electrical building services and proven experience in BIM for commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed Electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
- Prepare electrical layouts, lighting systems, power distribution, small power, earthing, lightning protection, and low‑voltage (ELV) systems.
- Coordinate electrical models with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines.
- Perform clash detection using Navisworks and assist in resolving coordination issues.
- Generate construction drawings, shop drawings, and as‑built documentation from BIM models.
- Create and manage BIM families and templates as required.
- Ensure compliance with project BIM standards, client specifications, and relevant codes.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and provide technical support to project teams.
- Collaborate with design engineers and project managers to deliver projects within timelines.
- Maintain model quality, accuracy, and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering; 4–5 years of relevant experience in Electrical BIM modeling for commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, or infrastructure projects; Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Electrical), Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, and BIM standards; Strong coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
